                   AN ORDINANCE CLOSING AND ABANDONING ALLEYS
                   LOCATED NORTHEAST FROM EAST 17TH STREET AND
                   SOUTHEAST FROM WATKINS STREET, MORE
                   PARTICULARLY DESCRIBED HEREIN.

              	   SECTION 1.  BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
         CITY OF CHATTANOOGA, TENNESSEE, That there be and is hereby 
closed
         and abandoned alleys located northeast from East 17th Street 
and
         southeast from Watkins Street, more particularly described 
herein,
         and as shown on plat attached hereto and made a part hereof by
         reference:
               
                A 15 foot wide unopened alleyway beginning on the
                northeast line of East 17th Street 180 feet
                southeast of the intersection of the northeast line
                of East 17th Street with the southeast line of
                Watkins Street, and extending northeast some 350.95
                feet between parallel lines to the southwest line
                of a 10 foot alleyway.  Said 15 foot alleyway
                separates Lots 1-8, Block 12, from Lots 16-22,
                Block 12, revised plat of Dodds Place, as shown by
                plat of record in Plat Book 7, Page 44, R.O.H.C.
               
                A 10 foot wide unopened alleyway beginning on the
                southeast line of Watkins Street 351.2 feet
                northeast of the intersection of the southeast line
                of Watkins Street with the northeast line of East
                17th Street, and extending southeast 360 feet
                between parallel lines to the northwest line of the
                Alabama Great Southern Railroad right-of-way.  Said
                alleyway separates lots 8 and 16, block 12, from
                lots 9-15, block 12, revised plat of Dodds Place,
                as shown by plat of record in plat book 7, page 44,
                R.O.H.C.
               
               
              	   SECTION 2.  BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED, That this
         Ordinance shall take effect two weeks from and after its 
passage
         as provided by law.
